Our favorite little guy...

Cade is so special to us! From the moment he was born, Matt and I have loved him and have loved watching him grow up. Shannon (Cade's mom) is the first close friend that I have experienced "mommyhood" with. Since parenthood isn't too far out of sight for Matt and I, I have hung on every memory and every moment that Shannon has shared. I hope to be half of the mom that Shannon is to Cade...and hope that his "Matt Matt" and "Bitt Bitt" are always a big part of his life!

Unbelieveable story...

A few weeks ago, our silly puppy, Krozby, found something on the floor and decided it was his new toy!!! Matt and I couldn't believe how funny it! Krozby sincerely apologizes to his friend, Caleb, for stealing his passy...but thanks him for the joy it brings!!!
(As you can obviously tell, the first two pics are of Krozby and the third one is of our friend, Caleb!)

Pictures of our babies...

I have been meaning to download pics of our sweet puppies for all of you to see and have just now gotten around to it...Enjoy!!!

Why Abilene Sometimes Looks Good...

Well, last night I experienced one of the down sides of Dallas...one that I rarely experience, but hate when I do. As I was on my way to dinner with 3 of my sweet friends, I got in the WORST traffic jam! Apparently, there was a wreck on 75 and I traveled about a mile in a little under an hour. It was miserable! Because of it, we missed our dinner and had to reschedule!! Don't get me wrong, I love being a Dallas girl, but I hate stuff like that. In Abilene, you can get everywhere in 10 minutes and life just seems to move at a slower pace....I like that! Even though I love where I am, what I do, what Matt does, etc...sometimes Abilene just doesn't look so bad! ...Oh well, because of the dinner cancelation, I got to relax at home with my husband! We watched many of our tevoed shows and ate a 'home cooked' meal. (Nothing fancy!) He had been in Waco all day preparing for summer camp and I felt like I hadn't really seen him in days...he even came back with cute Baylor sweat pants and a t-shirt for me...what a good husband!

100th Day of Sleepyness

I am exhausted! Today is the 100th day of school and my kids have been NUTS! We have done so many fun things but they're definitely on a sugar high. (All of the first grade teachers wore t-shirts with 100 pieces of candy glued to them and the kids have been pulling them off all day...with permission of course!) Anyway, I am ready for it to be the 101st day of school and not the 100th. Heck, I'm ready for it to be the 180th day of school!!! That means it's almost over!!! Anyway, I'm off to collect pictures of how they think they'll look in 100 years...so funny!

Busy! Busy!

From the second I left school yesterday, we were SO busy!!! Mondays are Matt's day off (which is always really hard for me, since it's my first day back to school for the week!!!) so, when I got home, we hit the ground running. We went to Lowe's to pick out paint colors! I think my bday gift from Matt is going to be to have our whole house painted...I'm SO excited. Then, we met Kara and Meredith (2 sweet friends from school) and their husbands at Luna de Noche (la Luna de Noche, according to Meredith:) ) for a fun dinner! After that, we rushed Coach Matt to his basketball practice with 9th and 10th grade guys, and then to Wal-Mart for some grocery shopping!!! Oh how I HATE Wal-Mart! I try to like it, but I HATE it! It's usually so crowed and kind of dirty...just yuck! But, you can't beat the prices...so that keeps us going back! ... Tonight should be a little more low-key! I hope to watch some shows from last night and bathe the sweet puppies! Exciting, huh?

Surprising Mom...

Well, Matt and I decided to be sweet and give mom an early birthday surprise this weekend. So, with many lies in place, we drove to Abilene and arrived at my parent's door at about 8:00 with 2 anxious puppies and a huge balloon bouquet. To say she was SHOCKED is an under statement. She couldn't believe that we were there and it was so fun that neither she or dad knew that we were coming. We just kind of lazed around, but I'm glad that we got to be in Abilene to celebrate Mom's 55th a few days early! (she'll probably be mad at me for revealing her age!)
Anyway, after church yesterday, Matt and Brooks watched football while I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned! Our house was the yuckiest that it has ever been and I was actually excited to clean it. I did get into a small fight with the SOFT SCRUB and ruined my favorite pair of sweats and our bathmat! Oh well...at least they're clean, right? It's going to be nice to come home to a clean house today! I always LOVE that!

So thankful for TEVO...

Well, I don't know if Tevo is something worthy to be thankful for...but we love it so much! Last night (after a fun 2 hour trip to IKEA with my sweet friend, Kara) Matt and I watched 3 of our 4 favorite shows...thanks to Tevo! We got in our PJ's and watched The Bachelor, American Idol, and Beauty and the Geek. I know that most people are really loving shows like Lost, House, Gray's Anatomy, 24, etc....but, with all this GREAT reality T.V., who has time for those? ... All three shows were great, and we look forward to next week so we can indulge again... If you're a fan of The Bachelor, go to www.thebachelorrecaps.com. It's really funny!

I don't want to go to the dentist...

I can't believe that I'm about to admit this...but...I haven't been to the dentist in about 4 1/2 or 5 years. I HATE going and, since I brush my teeth, I feel that I should be fine! Anyway, for the past 2 days I can REALLY feel my wisdom teeth coming in. I know that if I go to the dentist, he's going to tell me that we need to hurry and get them out. It scares me so much and I just don't have time to recover. Anyway...say a prayer that they hide back in my gums like they've been doing for about a year now! Let's put this off for as long as possible!

Bad Mom...

Last night, while cooking some dinners for people at my school, I looked down and saw a HUGE yellow puddle on the kitchen floor that could have only come from my 'sweet' Krozby! So, I snatched him off of the red chair, put his nose in it, and spanked his little bottom two or three times while yelling, "BAD BOY!!! POTTY OUTSIDE!" Then, I proceeded to put him in the backyard...while still saying, "BAD BOY!!! POTTY OUTSIDE!!!!" (Are you getting a picture!?) I huffed back to the kitchen, grabbed the Resolove and started to clean. As I did, I realized that the yellow puddle didn't really look or smell like pee. Was there a chance that I had spilled something or maybe he had thrown up his water? Hesitantly, I walked to the back door and went outside to get my poor, possibly innocent, puppy! He was cowered against the house...obviously heartbroken that I had spanked him and yelled! I picked him up, loved on him...and if you can believe it...started to bawl!!! I couldn't beleive that I may have spanked (HARD!) my sweet boy and he didn't even do it. I called Matt (he was at a STARS game with a youth kid and his family!) and just cried and cried!!! Once again...what am I going to be like when I have children? ...Anyway, after my tears and much love...he forgave me! I think it only took him about 30 seconds to forget all about it!!!

This is a old picture of Matt and I with Kia (September 2002) when I was still a good mom!!

Stupid Money...

Well, Matt just called and informed me that he had to buy a new tire! As a "grown up" I have realized how much I HATE spending money on things like that! Things like tires, toilet paper, gas, tags for your car, doctor's appointments, razor blades, etc. Basically, it's the stuff that mom and dad always paid for and I took for granted. I never realized how expensive those "necessary" items became! Oh well...what can you do!? Grin and bear it!!!

Our "babies!"

Well, today we have to take our puppies to the vet. They're going to hate it so much! I hate it when they look at me with those big, buggy eyes and wonder what this strange man is doing to them! What am I going to do when I have children? I'm already nuts and they're DOGS! Anyway, we'll take them to Petco afterwards so they can pick out a toy! Aren't we good parents?

Here We Go...

Happy 2006 Everybody!!! Well, I can't decide if I like the idea of this. You know me...I want everything to be in a scrapbook so I can keep it forever. I do like the idea of everyone knowing what's going on and I love looking at everyone elses blogs...so, I thought I might give it a try. We'll see if it lasts....
