I’m Officially a SOCCER MOM!

1st Soccer Tots 028

Today, Quinn had his very first soccer class! We’re taking the class through Soccer Tots with five other little 2 year old (ish) buddies! And, after much anticipation…for Q and for Mommy…the class DID NOT disappoint! It was as precious as I hoped that it would be and started teaching Quinn all about following directions and soccer skills! Our coach, Coach T, was so patient and age appropriate with the boys! I loved watching Quinn run and kick the ball in the “monkey house,” sit on his own “spot,” kick over cones and then put them back up by just using his feet, stretch, and chase mommy with a noodle! But, let me just say that this Soccer Mom was EXHAUTED and sweaty after it was all said and done…but it was so worth it! When we got in the car, Quinn said, “kank ku, Mommy, for soccer. It was so fun!” I love him and look forward to a fall full of teamwork and soccer fun with fun friends!… 1st Soccer Tots 005 1st Soccer Tots 0081st Soccer Tots 034 1st Soccer Tots 0501st Soccer Tots 036

Eye of the TIGER!

Yesterday, Mammer and Slickpaw took all of us to Gatti Town. It had been a while since Quinn had been and we figured that he would enjoy the fun and games even more than the last time. When we walked in, we immediately saw the “face painting lady.” I would have walked on by, but Slickpaw asked Quinn if he wanted to have his face painted. Surprisingly, he said YES! So, we waited our turn…and, while waiting, Quinn picked the tiger! I was thrilled that he chose the tiger…why? He has been telling us that he wants to be a tiger for Halloween. And, in searching the internet for tiger costumes, they are ALL ridiculous! So, if we can appease him with this, that would be GRRREATT! ….

Anyway, when it was finally his turn, he sat perfectly in the chair while she transformed our little man. …. TIGER! 001 TIGER! 002 TIGER! 009 …And, when she finished, we could NOT believe our eyes! Our little man looked NOTIHNG like himself…and he LOVED it! He ran back to the mirror a hundred times and posed for LOTS of pictures. He thought it was the coolest thing ever! “My a tiger….raaarrrrrhhhh!!!,” he would say! It was hilarious! TIGER! 013 TIGER! 017 TIGER! 027 TIGER! 028

He ate his pizza and played lots of games as our little tiger! Precious, precious, precious! …And, so much fun!TIGER! 034Big boy room and TIGER 107 Big boy room and TIGER 104

When we got home, Quinn immediately ran to his big boy room so that he could look at himself in his new mirror. He posed and laughed and growled. And, after about 10 minutes of that, I asked him he wanted to take it off before his nap. And, he said yes! (I was afraid it might be a battle!) So, he watched me as I wiped off his tiger face and revealed my sweet Quinn. …Later, when we asked him where the “Tiger boy” went, he would say, “It went on the wipie!” Smart boy!

What a surprisingly fun afternoon…and what fun to see my little man transformed into a tiger! I can’t wait to see what he chooses to be next time…and watch his imagination work in a whole new way! Being a kid is fun!!!

Open House: Quinn’s Nursery

Open House

***

"Let him sleep...For when he wakes, he will move mountains."

What time is it, might you ask? Time to show you Quinn’s baby room! Why? … Quinn's Nursery 013 …because, these boxes arrived at our house today! And, inside these boxes contain a big boy bed and nightstand!!!!…This weekend, we plan on accomplishing the task of making Quinn’s nursery a “big boy room!” It’s bittersweet! … So, before we made the transformation, I wanted to show off his nursery one more time!!!…Quinn's Nursery 001 Come on in! …This is the view from the door!…Quinn's Nursery 002

And now, a clockwise tour!!!…To the left is Quinn’s locker. (full of sheets, unused picture frames, a humidifier, a bubble machine and more!) Around the locker are fun sports numbers, a hand painted basketball print from a friend and Quinn’s soccer stool. Directly to the right of that is the “Q” collection. It has grown since we brought him home and will continue to grow. I plan on hanging most of them together when we re-do the room. So, it’s going to be on a bigger wall and make even more of a statement. … My favorite “Q” will forever be the old red one. This is the one he took pictures with so many times and will hopefully be included in photo shoots for years to come! …

Here’s his sweet bed. The one that was given to us and lovingly painted by Quinn’s Daddy when Q was still in my tummy! The bedding was bought before we even knew Quinn was a boy and seems to be a little droopier than almost 2 1/2 years ago! … To the right of the crib is a little table that always houses a lamp and Quinn’s bedtime books. Next to that is our faithful glider. My heart breaks at the thought of moving it out, but it’s time. We’ll now read stories snuggling together in Q’s big boy bed. I have rocked Quinn COUNTLESS times in this sweet chair and will cherish the next few nights that I do! :) …Above the chair is anther little locker, more “Q’s,” and some fun shadowboxes. To the right of the window is Quinn’s dresser. Even though it won’t be the same color as his bed and nightstand, I still think it’s a pretty piece and will look great in his new room! Above the dresser is the priceless scoreboard. I think it’s the coolest thing in Q’s room. My dad found it for us and we love that it’s so unique. After Quinn was born, Matt quickly changed the numbers to his birthday. But, “home” had to be winning, of course!:) … to the right of the scoreboard is Quinn’s jam-packed closet! A stylish wardrobe for a stylish little guy! …

This part of the room will change completely! It’s time to get rid of the changing table and quilt hanging on the wall! But, sadly, the diaper champ will have to stay! We aren’t progressing as quickly as hoped on that potty training! :) …Quinn's Nursery 010 We love Quinn’s room! It was so fun to decorate and the memories that have been formed in this room are priceless. I know that Quinn appreciates all of the cool things in it and am thankful that his love for sports allow us to carry most of the decor to his big boy room! So, I hope you enjoyed the little tour through Quinn’s sweet room…and, stay posted for a very proud “big boy” very soon! …Quinn's Nursery 012
