Dear {almost} Third Trimester,

Dear {almost} Third Trimester (a.k.a. Twenty-four-ish weeks), |

Due to the fact that you have me feeling so good and motivated, I’m a little late on posting these belly pics!  But, in Quinn verbiage…”That’s ok!!!!” I love being pregnant! I LOVE how much Baby Nash is moving and squirming inside of my tummy! It’s crazy how you kind of forget what it feels like once the baby is in your arms…but, the second you feel it again, it’s so amazingly fabulous! I”m constantly trying to figure out which way he’s situated in there based on his movements! All I know is that he’s definitely more active than his Big Brother was!…hope it’s not a sign of things to come!!!

Because of you, dear Twenty-four weeks, I’m beyond ready to get going on the nursery! We’ve been holding out…wanting Quinn’s birthday to come first…but, now it’s time! The walls will be painted next week…and fun things will slowly but surely fill a room that will soon belong to a new baby!

Because of you, I’m wanting ketchup (so, I have to have burgers and fries to dip)…and lots of Taco Bueno! Not together, of course! I still love my diet coke and milk! And, bagels with cream cheese are SO yum in the mornings…I’m loving the Target brand French Toast bagels! MMMM!

Because of you, I feel like my belly (and, sadly, other parts of me) is HUGE! When I look at pictures from my pregnancy with Quinn, it’s really not different, but it just seems like it! This crazy big tummy is going to get SO much bigger! My poor back might just snap in half before then…it really is giving me fits! I guess that just means less housework and more relaxing on the couch! Shoot! (insert sarcasm!!! ;)…ha!)

Because of you, “Melman” (my giraffe print body pillow) is a must!!! Yes, we named him…he is like another person in bed with us! And, he’s SO wonderful! When I cuddle really tightly with him through the night, I wake with my back feeling so much better! 

Because of you, I have TOTALLY peed my pants!!!!… TWICE!!!! Once I was laughing at Matt, and the other was after a sneeze! WHAT IN THE WORLD!?!?! How embarrassing! Thankfully, I was at home on both lovely occasions! Oh pregnancy…so glamorous!

Because of you, I’m ready for no more jeans and thankful that the warm weather is allowing me to pull out my cotton skirts, flip flops and maxi dresses! Whoever invented these clothing items must have been pregnant at some point…they’re heaven on my ever-changing body! And, because of you, I swear I love the little boy that currently lives in my house more and more everyday! I must admit that as my due date gets closer and closer, I am truly cherishing HIM and the “baby” that he is! And, my prayers for this little baby in my belly are full of “please Lord give him so many qualities that his Big Brother has!” What a blessing they are going to be to each other! As far as the doctor visits go, everything is looking perfect! After my 26 Week visit, we’ll start going every TWO WEEKS! And, we’ll have a baby in our arms before we know it! Even though I can’t wait to meet our newest little family member, I sort of hope that time goes slowly! …There’s lots to do! :)

We’re in countdown mode at our house…Because, in four days, my sweet little man will be THREE years old! How in the world did that happen?

So, for today, he’ll practice telling me how old he’s going to be… And, I’ll cherish the fact that he’s still “this many” for a few days longer…{We never could quite master the “peace sign” 2! But, this is cuter anyway, so who cares!?}

On Friday we…
dined outdoors on a fabulous picnic lunch
broke sticks
played at our favorite park
picked flowers
and wore shorts & flip flops!   {SIDENOTE!>>>LOOK AT THAT BELLY!!!!!It looks HUGE in these pictures! Baby Nash update coming soon!}
And, on Sunday, we woke up to THIS!!!...
 
7 inches of SNOW!!! I was SHOCKED!!! How does this happen on March 21st? Only in Texas, right? Even though it was a fun surprise, I’m over it! And, Quinn wanted nothing to do with being out in it!

So, we…
stayed in our PJs all day
played and played and played in our warm and cozy house
laughed when the puppies had to go potty
pulled up all of the blinds so that we could see the beautiful white blanket
and dined on snow ice cream!

This St. Patty’s Day, I decided to do a spur-of-the-moment festive dinner for my boys! Some days I look at my life and  seriously can’t believe that I’m married to a man that is so good to me, that I’m a Momma to the most beautiful boy, and that I have another baby boy on the way! It really all is TGTBT! :) I’d say that I definitely have more blessing than there are shamrocks! :)  …So, I wanted to tell them how “lucky” I am that they’re in my life. …And with a little paper and glue and some green food coloring, I made our dinner a little more fun! Why not celebrate the little things!? They enjoyed…and so did I!   The cake was the best part…check out my recipe blog for the yummy treat! :) …

March 2010…Quinn’s Daddy has a way of making him laugh! And, I mean, LAUGH!! …in a way that I could never dream of doing! It’s precious…and I love witnessing moments like these! Because, they make me laugh too!

Letter of the Week: S

Let’s just say that S week could go ON and ON and ONNN! There are so many things that start with S that are fun to do. So, after a week and a half, it was just time to call it quits! :) I’m afraid we’re not going to make it through all 26 before Nash gets here! S was a really fun letter though!!!!

Here are some of the fun things we did with S…

We started the week with “S” things in our striped bag… It contained Salty, Spencer, scissors, a straw, a spoon, a shoe with Spiderman and a star, a sock and a Stop sign!!! We sang SILLY SNAKE a bunch and read our book…cute one…Quinn then made his own Silly Snake…We played straw hockey. Such a quick and easy game…just take a cottonball and 2 straws…sit across from each other at a table and see who can WIN! 

Quinn then used the same slobbery straw to drink a yummy Strawberry Soda!!! Mommy’s preggo favorite! :) …Don’t worry, he gave me a sip! 

On our 3rd day, we met Sarah and her sweet Virginia friend, Robin, for lunch. And, I told Sarah how excited Q was to see her because it was S week! :)   Of course, she didn’t come empty handed! Look what she brought Quinn…SO CREATIVE and SWEET!!!…
And, after a fun lunch, we came home to nap, and then went on our date to Sonic! Quinn chose a Strawberry Smoothie….and, I got a Soda. (a diet coke with lime, to be exact!) Thank you, Sarah, for such a fun “sussy!”
We had a few fun “S” breakfasts…
These S pancakes with sprinkles & syrup on our state plate. 

And, this Silly Snake surrounded by strawberries. Both were quickly devoured. One evening, we made this yummy S’mores dessert! We enjoyed it over the next few days!!!And, on Friday night, we went on our field trip to Daddy’s first Soccer game! Quinn was SO excited and proudly wore his soccer shoes. He even got to play with the “big boys” a little before the game began. But, once it did, we had a fun Silly Snack Mix and Soccer drink to keep us occupied. Even though we didn’t walk away with a victory, it was fun…and we look forward to the season!… 

In the midst of S week, Mammer came to visit because she’s on Spring Break! Let’s just say that she spoiled my little guy with attention…and he loved spending time with her…and, being silly, of course!

While cooking dinner one night, I got out all of the boxes in the recycling container in our pantry and told Quinn to cover every S with a dot sticker! Fun and free!!! He found so many!!! After dinner at Souper Salad on Monday, we decided to take our stale bread on a spontaneous trip to feed the ducks! Sadly, the ducks were stuck up and didn't want much to do with us! But, the sky was pretty! :) 
   And, while eating a sandwich one afternoon, my little man flashed me these eyes and THAT smile! SERIOUSLY!?!?!?!?!? I know he’s mine, but I think he’s stunning! How could I love him more?

  A few things that were on my list that just didn’t get done were…
*Sock Sorting using all of his socks
*playing with Sand
*Going on a Silver Hunt around the house…looking for everything silver
