We just finished another fun week of making lunches for my big school boy! Next week,I’m commissioning Matt to draw some cool things with our new food markers. So, stay tuned! And, don’t forget to order your Easy Lunchboxes while the tote is still FREE!!!
Lunch #1: Since it was picture day, a “smiley” lunch was appropriate. The letters are Wilton candy letters and the fruit snacks are smiles from Wal-Mart.
Lunch #2: A little random, but fun. Q LOVED the tortilla, turkey and cheese stick snails and his Minion rings from Despicable Me.
Lunch #3: Letter of the Week was “E!” So, I made these fun “eggs on a grill” (I used gummies for the yellow part instead of Smarties…Matt thought they were eggs & bacon…that works too!) …I used the E’s from the Scrabble Cheese-itz…and I attempted to draw an elephant! I also made a little tortilla, cheese and turkey E sandwich and added an Elmo pick. (picture from one of Quinn’s coloring books!)

Happy Half Birthday, QDP!
This weekend we celebrated Quinn’s half birthday! He’s half way to FOUR!!! …And, was obviously super excited about his half birthday sussies from Mammer and Slickpaw, his fun half birthday lunch at Gatti Town, and his Wolverines soccer cake that Mammer made. He couldn’t wait for us to sing “Happy Half Birthday” and thanked us over and over for singing it to him! Precious boy! (Stay tuned for his 1/2 birthday letter from Mommy!)

Celebrating 20 Years!
On Sunday, we had the privilege of celebrating the 20th Anniversary of our church. It was so fun to worship outside with my family and to honor Pastor Randy for all of his years of hard work…and for staying true to his church for 20 years. Matt and I have been happy to call it our church home for 7 years…since he was hired by the church less than 3 months after we got married!
It has been the place where I learned (and am still learning) to be a pastor’s wife.
Where we grew (and continue to grow) as a Mr. and Mrs.
Where we have built amazing friendships.
And where we celebrated the pregnancy and birth of our two precious boys.
We love our church and are so thankful that God has grown us so much while being a part of it. Here’s to even more happy memories, precious friendships and growth in our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bless my soul.
I seriously could EAT. HIM. UP.
P.S. It’s a good thing we had a cool-ish day today so that I could put him in this darling onesie that Sharee got him. If we’d waited much longer, I’m afraid he would have never gotten to wear it!

To the Bat Cave!!!…
On Friday morning, Q woke up at 4:15 from a bad dream. Then, after settling, was screaming for me again at 4:45. Nash woke up at 5:00 ready to eat. And, Quinn woke up again at about 5:30. Mercy. It wasn’t even worth it. …So, Quinn watched a few shows in bed with us…and Nash was WIDE awake…happy and smiling. I guess sleeping in wasn’t in the cards for today!
At about 6:30, Nash was back asleep and Daddy went out to get us donuts. When he got home, he summoned me back to bed! (Praise Jesus!) And, Nash and I slept for about 2 1/2 hours!
When I woke up, Quinn couldn’t wait to show me what he and Daddy had been working on! And, when I came into the living room, I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was an AMAZING Bat Man Castle. I was SOOO impressed…and they were having SO much fun!
Just check out all of the details…there are stairs, a jail, a lazy boy, a flat screen TV, a remote, doors, and windows! And, check out those hand drawn bats! :) Impressive!
Even though this would surely earn Matt “Dad of the Year,” don’t be fooled! He had AS MUCH fun playing as Q did! Man, I love my two big boys! :) ![]()

Quinn’s Lunches:Week 2
Week 2 of lunches were even more fun than week 1! I love how excited Quinn gets when he talks about it after school…and I love how well he’s eating!!! Don’t forget to order your own set of these containers from Easy Lunchboxes…and you’ll get a free lunch tote!!!
Lunch #1 Hint: It’s something you kick!…And he guessed it right away!!! He really loved the star “sprinklers”, fun soccer cookies (from Asian Market) and dried pineapple! (but he thought it was lemon!)
Lunch #2 Hint: You dressed up like this for your first Halloween and they love to eat bananas!…We love this silly monkey at our house. We have shirts, shorts, swimsuits, wipes cases, socks and MORE! Quinn loves him! :) … I used pictures of the monkey that I cut from his t-shirt tags! … And, the marshmallow is colored with these fun food markers! I can’t wait to use them for lots of fun lunches!
Lunch #3 Hint: Almost everything starts with the same letter! … And, since “B” is his letter at school this week, he quickly chose that as his guess!…See the bunny, bear spoon(from Home Goods), ball pretzels, baby carrots, banana chips, blue yogurt, Batman snacks, “B” tortilla/cheese/turkey sandwich and baby & big brother picture picks! (picks from Dollar Tree) If you couldn’t tell, I had LOTS of fun with this one!
Hopefully his teachers will read him his note so that he can “I spy” all of the fun “B” things in his lunch! :) …
And, Daddy even got a fun lunch this week! It had leftover pasta, carrots, these AMAZING cookies and a marshmallow note too! He was a good eater…it came home empty! :) ![]()

A million pep talks + 100 water breaks = 1 Happy Wolverine
After an insane amount of pep talks and conversations about the disaster of a game last week, and a SUPER great practice on Monday, our Wolverine was EXCITED to play in his second game! He never once discussed not wanting to go, so we chalked up the sadness from the first game to nerves…and couldn’t wait to see a change! (fingers crossed!)
When we arrived at the fields with Nana and Pawpaw, Quinn was all decked out in his new “Batman” shinguards and COOL new shoes! (TRUST ME…we did EVERYTHING to make #5 excited!) He was ready!
And, when the game began, our little soccer player decided that this WAS fun! He started…he ran…he even kicked the ball! And, most importantly, HE SMILED!!! We cheered and were so proud of him! Due to a pre-game fall, there was a little drama about the bandaids from time to time (see the sweet ref checking on him in the pic below)…but, he always got back up and ran some more!
Sadly, this crazy Texas heat is NO better…and it was HOT and SOOOOO HUMID! Coach Mike was always making sure that the boys were doing ok and weren’t too tired. At one point he reminded the boys that if there were too tired, or just needed to take a little break, that they just needed to raise their hand to let him know.
And, as soon as the words came out of his mouth, my little guy was ready for a break…hand raised and all! It cracked us up!
But, after some hydration, he was ready to play once more. Thankfully, he was a COMPLETELY different kid from last week! ![]()

We even saw a TINY bit of aggression from our little tender hearted guy!
Soon after half time, all of the boys started to shut down a bit! (10 minute quarters are TOO long for 3 year olds!) Playing with Nash on the sidelines and taking more water breaks was WAY more fun than sweating on the field! And, I didn’t care! I was just SO happy that he had tried…and that he’d done so well kicking the ball!
I am so proud of my #5 Wolverine and can’t wait to see him play again next Saturday!
{And, not that we’re keeping score, but we TOTALLY won!!! And, if one of Q’s team mates hadn’t kicked in the ball, we’re PRETTY sure he would have scored his first goal!}
