On top of making pumpkin play-doh, fun cupcakes and pumpkin granola, we’ve done all kinds of fun pumpkin things around our house!!!

First, we had MORE fun with our fun Jack-o-Lantern pizza from Papa Murphy’s! (Thanks, Amy, for telling us about it!!) Quinn was TOO excited to watch it bake and then eat it all up! And, for only $6.99, it was a wonderfully cheap dinner! I hope to get one more before Halloween!!!

 

Then, last week, we had our pumpkin hunt at school! It was the first event that the family got to attend…and Quinn was so excited to have us there watching him. Sweet boy even thanked Daddy for coming to watch him! We enjoyed seeing him with his friends!!!…and watching him do all of the fun obstacle course games.

And, last but not least, we got to go to the Pumpkin Patch as a family! Sadly, we didn’t get to go on the first planned trip due to Q being sick…and the second got nixed because Mommy got stupid Mastitis for the second time…

But, just two days before Halloween, we made it happen! Since we waited so late in the season to go, the crowds were slim, but so were the pumpkins! I think we got the last 3 in the patch! :)… But, the weather was perfect and I’m so glad we didn’t miss out on going this year.

The hayride was Q’s favorite part…The little story they had about missing “Farmer Frank” kept him very interested and the scenery really was pretty!
And, before we left, one more brother pic!…not too bad!!!…
         

P.S. I did the “Color Pop” on these pics and I feel like they are extra “color poppy!” Wow! The orange kinda hurts my eyes!

Quinn’s Lunches: Week 7

Halloween week has led to some fun ideas for lunches.
But, don’t worry…nothing scary!

Lunch #1: Pumpkin Patch day at school…PB jack-o-lantern sandwich, chocolate covered sunflower seeds and peanuts, a little yogurt with a “sharpied” face, pretzels, a pumpkin cookie and kiwi.

Lunch #2: A snacky lunch…turkey rolls, pretzels, carrots, golden raisins, pumpkin cookies, PB crackers, pumpkin candy corn and homemade Pumpkin Granola! YUM! 

Lunch #3: It’s “P” Week…pepperonis, a pumpkin cup with pickles inside, pretzels, pumpkin PB sandwich with a cheese P, P Cheese-itz, popcorn and pumpkin candy corn!

And, Percy, a praying girl and a pear made it on his “P” note!

 
Today, Quinn told me that when his friends see his lunch they say, “WOOOOWWW!” Made me laugh! I do them because HE appreciates them…and I think it makes him eat a better lunch! {And, don’t get me wrong…I have fun making them!!!}

Hurry up COLD WEATHER!
This Momma is tired of lugging around her 17+ pound baby and sweating!
We’re all ready for jeans and sweatshirts and toboggans!
And fires in the fire place!
And HOT CHOCOLATE!
We’re even cranking up the AC and pretending it’s cold just so we can enjoy the yummy chocolaty-ness!
I am SO OVER 80 and 90 degree days at the end of October!
Mark my words…I can’t wait to be COLD!

Quinn’s Lunches: Week 6

Quinn had some fun lunches this week. I loved coming up with a few little creative touches for each day. And, I used the Easy Lunchboxes, of course!

Lunch #1: Quinn has been learning about creation/Adam & Eve at church and at school. He’s so interested in the fact that the snake told Eve to eat the apple and that she & Adam disobeyed God. I’ve been so impressed with his precious questions and the way it comes up in daily conversations. He has even memorized Genesis 1:1…In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth.                   

So, here’s his little creation lunch…Sun, Moon and Stars sandwiches…fish and frog crackers…and, a little drawing of Adam & Eve on the marshmallow. Hilariously enough, Quinn thought it was a drawing of pirates. He wondered why Eve had on a pirate hat. ha. Maybe I need to brush up on my artistic skills a bit.         
             

Lunch #2: Letter F Lunch…since it was “F” Week at school!…F peanut butter sandwiches with a family pick…Fruit by the Foot…Football crackers & pretzels…F’s cut out of pepperonis…and Fish swimming in blue Jell-O (with a frog pick)

{I learned that putting gummy things inside Jell-O doesn’t really work very well. The little Swedish fish were extra gooey when it came time for him to enjoy this at lunch.}

               
Lunch #3: a Batman theme…since it was dress up day at school! :) … I made bat shaped sandwiches and bat shaped cheese on top of raisins…The little bat cookies were a fun touch…and the plastic Batman ring worked great in the Jell-O!…the little Taco Bueno hot sauce container was perfect for his pickles.
 
I made the picks from stickers that I got at Hobby Lobby and picks from the Dollar Tree…

  These “Tummy Tickler” drinks are the current favorite around here. They have so many fun toppers and they don’t spill. I fill it with juice or Gatorade each day. Batman was perfect for today!…
