August 7-13 (Week 33) Our family…as loved

My Single-Mommyhood Week…

Last week, Matt was out of town from Sunday-Friday! And, even though I was so thankful that he was able to be camp pastor at a youth camp in Wichita Falls, I was SUPER sad that he was away from us for so long! … In one hand, I’ll have to admit that having him gone was a little bit fun! Just me and the babes…doin’ our own thing! … But, over my happiness was definitely sadness and EXHAUSTION! Doing EVERYTHING for that long is so very tiring!! I don’t know how you Mommas with traveling husbands/single Mommas do it! I salute you!

But, with much patience and love, we all survived! We ate out a BUNCH and did things everyday to get us out of the house! Quinn even got to sleep in our BIG bed for the first time EVER! He LOVED it and did so great “protecting Momma!”

It’s times like these that I am reminded of how blessed I am to have such good little guys! How I love them!!!

And, Daddy missed us TONS! But, as the week went on, the videos he sent us got MORE AND MORE crazy! We were a little concerned that the heat was getting to him! :) Nash and Quinn both “hoo-rahed” when they saw him talking to them! What a good {and super silly} Daddy they have! Check out a few of the silliness that came our way…

Now, How do I answer THIS!?

The flies in our house this summer are DISGUSTING! I swear that Matt killed 20 one day! And look at the size of the one above that was in our house last week! SICK…SICK…SICK! They gross me out so much.

Quinn has heard our complaints and has joined us in trying to kill the flies with the “fly splatter!”

Then, tonight at dinner, here was our conversation…

Quinn: Mommy, God wants flies to die, right?
Mommy: Well, I’m not really sure…He did make the files and I’m sure that they serve some purpose.
Quinn: Then God loves the flies if he made them, right?
Mommy: I guess so, baby.

Hmmmm? The conversation stopped quickly because I had NO idea what to say! Made a Momma think! Bless his sweet, tender, loving heart!

Nash’s First Haircut

On Thursday (two days before Nash’s big birthday celebration), it was time for ALL THREE of my boys to get a little trim! …

So, we went to our favorite hair guy…Bruno…and let him work his magic. Q was up first! Despite his usual protest to going to Bruno’s, he always does a great job and always loves his new do.

And, before the cut began, we had to get one last pic of the “Chris Farley look!” It just wasn’t becoming and needed some help…So, after a pep talk from brother……and silly faces from Daddy……It was time to begin!…
   



 
After a few snips, the uncertainty turned to smiles when they realized the power of the mirror. That boy loves looking at himself! And how could you blame him? He’s pretty darn cute!!!

And the finished product was pretty darn cute too! Just a little trimmed up and looking handsome! And, after Daddy got a trim too, all three of my guys were ready to party!
